This week marked a historic occasion as our team conducted the very first charity paranormal investigation at the iconic Blackpool Town Hall. The event drew significant interest, and we were thrilled to welcome over 40 participants, all eager to explore the building’s spectral side. Dividing into three groups, each guided by two experienced investigators, we set out to uncover the mysteries hidden within the historic walls.
Encounters in the Main Room
Our investigation began in the main room, where activity quickly unfolded. Several participants reported the distinct sensation of someone holding their hand, while others glimpsed a small boy peeking from behind a pillar.
To deepen our communication, we conducted a human pendulum session. A female participant acted as the pendulum, swaying forward for “yes” and sideways for “no.” Through focused questioning, we learned that the small boy felt trapped, patiently awaiting his mother. We believe she eventually “came through to the light” and guided him away, offering a profoundly emotional resolution for those present.
Communicating Beyond the Veil
Next, we moved to a room where EMF meters and cat balls registered intermittent activity. While some participants requested an Ouija board, we instead used a glass-on-table setup with “yes” and “no” markers. After several minutes, the glass moved consistently toward answers to our questions.
Through careful questioning, we discovered that a recently deceased family member wished to communicate with one of the attendees. The participant asked personal questions known only to them, and the glass correctly indicated the answers every time. We rotated participants’ fingers to ensure authenticity, eliminating the possibility of deliberate manipulation.
During this session, one team member observed shadows moving toward the back of the room, as if making way for this profound connection. The experience left everyone involved deeply moved.
The Main Stairs and Trophy Room
Our final stop was the top of the stairs and the trophy room. Activity was initially minimal, with only an occasional flickering light. Using the human pendulum technique once again—this time with forward for “yes” and backward for “no”—we narrowed down the identity of a spirit, uncovering where they had lived in Blackpool and their past activities. Cross-referencing this information later confirmed its remarkable accuracy, leaving our team both astonished and humbled.
A Special Connection: The Blindfolded Session
Meanwhile, another group explored a meeting room where one brave participant volunteered to be blindfolded and wear headphones connected to a ghost box. Questions were asked, but she could not hear them—the only responses came through the device.
Through this method, we connected with a fireman spirit pleading for help for a young boy who had tragically passed in a fire. The boy, who had accidentally started the fire while playing with matches, was scared and confused. Standing behind the participant, a medium guided the boy to face the light, helping his mother spirit take him safely. It was an emotional, heartwarming moment—a true happy ending.
A Night to Remember
Overall, our first investigation at Blackpool Town Hall was a resounding success. Both our team members and participants left with a sense of wonder and awe. From ghostly glimpses and pendulum sessions to emotional spirit connections, it was a truly unique experience. We look forward to returning for a full-night investigation, ready to uncover even more of the unseen.
